I've posted my Bear compound to bolt-on recurve "Frankenbow" project, but now I'm obsessed by a posting on the auction site of a 1976 Howatt Super Diablo compound bow...can I make a recurve out of THAT?? It's a long riser but just gorgeous wood and it looks like it uses a half-round spacer to aling the riser to the limbs and allow for adjustment to increase or decrease weight and adjust tiller. It would probably require some deepening of the limb mounting face to make a more acute limb angle, but not much else to line up some Samick limbs, glue of otherwise fit the alignment half-round and she'd be a looker, for sure. Am I crossing the line into bow abuse?
