I use sandpaper  on the feather end of  the shaft
leaving cris cross marks, clean rubbing alcohol and I use Locktite  Ultra Gel glue.

I use 40%  off  coupons at Hobby Lobby and Joanne Fabrics to save money when buying the glue. Coupons come in every Sundays paper.

Thanks for sharing your experiences with gluing feathers to aluminum shafting and the products that have worked for each of you. It seems that the Saunders NPV has a consistent following and will be used in my efforts to fletch my aluminum shafts. It is hard for me to understand why Bohning would change its glue formula that worked well on all types of shafting in favor of a formula that does not work well at all. It does not make sense economically either, since they are obviously losing business.

I dip mine in gasket lacquer after wiping them first down with alcohol.  I use Duco and have worn the feather completely off but have never had one come loose.

Saunders NVP...Just wipe the shafts with denatured alcohol before fletching.

RonD, making bad business decisions has always been one of the choices one can make and some do. Whether for chasing more profits or lack of concern for the customer it all ends the same usually. It's like a hunger wolf chasing a lame deer....it all catches up to you in the end.
