Could be macassar ebony actually.

That's a fine one.  If lefty I would have found a way to snag it, though it was attractive even for being right handed.

Slammers are still and may always be the longbows I judge all others by.

Those bird's-eye maple veneers are sure highly figured. The riser has a burgundy tint to it like cocobolo.

Beautiful bow as expected.  I shoot a refelxdeflex from Leon with bamboo limbs and snake skin face with similar dark ebony riser.  It shoots wonderfully.  You can not go wrong with a LS
Leon Stewart Deflex/Reflex Mahogany and bamboo 62" 53#@27.5"
Leon Stewart Deflex/Reflex curly maple, birdseye maple and Osage riser 53#@ 28"
Blacktail 62" longbow takedown 53#/57# B & W ebony

Because of the red hue in the riser I would vote for cocobola. Those veneers of birdseye maple are killer! Probably my favorite veneer of all time.

These are the first birds eye maple veneers I've had. They're beautiful! The pics don't do them justice. They're almost 3-D in color. I have an LS Longbow with birds eye maple cores and they're cool too!
