Nice white meat.  The thing is finding one.  I had a friend see one off his back porch twice.  Called a friend with dogs and treed and shot it within three miles.  Nice bow kill for a 75 year old. That, friend, is an aberration, as most lion hunts are grueling.  I grew up in Logan county when there were few deer and no coyotes! You have it made now.

Delicious is all I can say! Never tried an old tom but have heard it can be a little tough. The young ones are plenty tender.

Excellent table fare. My wife swore she would never eat a cat until I snuck some lion in on her. I'm hoping to take one myself some day.

My wife and I had dinner with Larry and Belinda Fisher years ago and that was what they served.   Larry had cooked it in a wok with vegetables.  It was incredible!  A very light meat with great flavor.  I know it was one of his favorites.  He was a great guy and will be missed.

I had it once at a wild game dinner we went to in Michigan.  If I remember correctly, it was done as a roast and sliced thin and simmering in gravey.  I was delicious and everyone liked it.  It got my Dad to go out west hunting them twice...he didn't bring any meat home but did bring stories of some pretty intense hunts.

I would imagine it tastes about the same as a bobcat, which is very good grilled. Would definitely be a fun hunt though, maybe one of these days...

I had the good fortune to kill a mountain lion a few years back hunting with Fred Eichler.
We had a cookout a couple months after I got it and had about 20 friends and wives come. The women were scraping up every scrap. It was some of the best eating meat I've ever had. Can't afford another hunt but sure would like to get some more meat.
I look at every housecat a bit different now!

I've never eaten lion, but after hearing lots of folks say how good it is, I would definitely give it a whirl!

It was cooked on a pit. I wanted to try it so bad but was worried that I wouldn't like it. Boy was I wrong and im glad I was. Its amazing how some of the things we eat most would cringe. Its funny society now thinks eating things like lions are taboo. But our ancestors and whatever tbey killed or what they could forage.
As for people now days almost beleive that the meat fhey eat are made in a factory.

I had some of dnovo's lion at an archery shoot in Bois' Darc , Mo. This was the Flatrock, MO shoot. This was a few years ago. It was good and tasted like a nice piece pork.
