A few 1st's
« on: February 10, 2015, 10:01:00 AM »
I picked up a starter bow for the wife this past Saturday at the UBM event.

We managed to get her out late that afternoon to fling a few arrows and let her get the feel of her new-to-her bow.

Sunday after church I thought I'd let her see some of the fun one could have just walking in the woods and shooting at stuff(leaves, twigs, rotten stumps).

I wanted to give her mind something else to focus on other than just the mechanics.

I am proud to show her off shooting. The above photo wasn't posed, it was just one that I took.

Stumps were killed!

God bless,Mudd

Absolutely fantastic, Mudd.   The only thing missing is her Mudd's Merrymen hat.  Surely she deserves membership.

Hello everyone.  This is Mudd's wife Janet.  I am posting on his page until I can get one of my own.  My new bow is a 54" long curve {a 30 @ 28}.  She's a Seminole made by Indian Archery.  She's red glass front and back. Her name is The Scarlette Lady.  Thank you all for your wonderful words of encouragement.  They are greatly appreciated.  I do believe I am going to enjoy making arrows fly with my husband!

Janet, this is Pavan's wife Lori.  Before we were married, 42 years and counting, I had never so much as shot a BB gun. At first getting talked into bowhunting and paddling canoes seemed a bit daunting and at times frightening.  It also seemed very complicated, who knew that there was so much to know about fishing and paddling canoes and shooting bows.  Over time being your husbands best hunting and fishing buddy is a good thing, as Martha Stewart would put it. I have shot more deer in the last four years than my husband, and much to his grief, have caught more lake trout than he has.  But the razzing is all in fun.  Admittedly, the monsters that he is after and the deer that I shoot are not the same, but I am royally kicking his butt on the lake trout.
