What Glue do You Use for Feathers on on Wraps??

Hey all,

I've been using Fletch Tape for a long time and now I am tired of my feathers losing shape and distorting.  No matter how many dabs of glue I put on them, eventually they'll not be straight or helical any longer.

So, the last couple arrows I done I used Fletch Tite Platinum.  It was OK, but I didn't really care for it.  I'd rather have something better, quicker.  Since I am not experienced using FT Platinum, I was inconsistent in using the right amounts on each rib.

I'd like to find something that sets quicker, stronger and not as critical if you don't get the exact right amount.

I've read that some like the Gorilla Glue Super Glue Gel that gives you 10 seconds before it sets.  Other Super Glue Gels seems to be popular as well.

What do you all really like and recommend?

Thanks

Nalajr

Same old Bohning stuff I've used for years.  I can't say it's any better than anything else, but it seems to work fine.

Snow Crow

E6000, about $3 per tube in the craft section of wallyworld.  Same type of adhesive as Goop; flexible and waterproof when dry so has been excellent for winter shooting here in MN, permanent bond yet fletching and glue remnants can be completely removed by fingernails, and easy to use.  Only con is 15-20 minute cure time.
Wanted:  Crow willing to fly into my arrow.  Blind, deaf and dumb preferred.  Mute a bonus.  One wing would be good.  No legs.  With vertigo...

Gel CA glue is what our wrap maker recommended.  I use it and it works great.

I've been using "Goat Tuff" for years on wraps and have never had one come loose. It sets a bit slower than CA gel does.... But the CA works very good too. I've use the regular thick formula CA with good luck too..... not so good on bare carbon though...

For years I've been using AAE Fastset Gel. As the name implies, it sets up fast and has never failed me yet.

Has anybody tried Duco? Wondering how that stuff works on the wraps.

Fletch tite platinum.  I have had good luck with it, however--no matter how much is left in the tube I always treat myself to a fresh tube each summer---my experience has been that it does have a shelf life once opened.

Are you sure you're cleaning the wraps properly? I use tape and have never had a problem.

I have been using Gorilla Glue Super Glue recently and it seems to work really well. I don't think they will ever come off on their own.

Gorilla super glue impact tough! I clean the feather quils and the wraps with denatured alcohol, before I glue them on. I've never had a feather come off, never!

I Prefer: "Loctite® Super Glue ULTRA Gel Control™ is a specially formulated rubber toughened instant adhesive that resists impact, shock, vibration and temperature extremes"
It also is recommended by Onestringer which is more than good enough for me. It is a bit thicker and easier to control than the Gorilla glue for me. Also is available just about everywhere. When you think the bottle is empty, run a large pin or needle deep into the bottle to be sure. You may just get a bit more out of that bottle.
