I recently came into possession of a Lewis Hollow Archery Hayestani 3pc longbow, 51@28 64". I have never heard of this company before, but I am very impressed. It might be one of the fastest bows I've ever shot. I don't have a chronograph but my point on distance is 65 yards w/ a 9.5 grain per pound arrow, while other 50 pound longbows I have shot are point on (with the same arrows) at 50 or so yards. Its not just fast, but very stable, smooth drawing and dead in the hand at release. If any one has information pertaining to this company or bow I would appreciate it.

I have two of his bows. I have a three piece take down and a one piece recurve. I don't think Chris is making bows right now.

TBM Oct/Nov 2008, Blacky did a review on that bow if you can locate an issue, don't have it myself, just found the info through google

BWallace10327, is it all grey actionwood? If it is that's my custom ordered bow! Chris is/was an exceptional bowyer! That is one bow I should have never sold! It shot fantastic! Quick smooth quiet and very forgiving! I know Chris was taking a long time on his builds because of Family matters. I believe his Dad had become ill. His 2 boys I believe were very involved in Little League and Chris was very involved in that as well. He put his Family and Family matters before his bow building. Unfortunate for us! He was truely a gifted bowyer! Just have to add when he first started to build he was a Sponsor here . He built an Osage limbed pass around bow. That bow like all his that he built ROCKED! When I called to ask who to send it to was the day I ordered my new custom. My bow was on his web page from the begining of the finish to the end when he stopped building. You might find some pictures in the archives! Hope I helped!

I have to add I shot Gold Tip Trads out of her cut to 28"'s for my 27" draw with a 175 gn point in front. The bow smoked them!

This bow must not have been yours. It has bamboo or actionboo limbs with what looks like laminated cocobolo riser. I great contrasting combo. It looks like there is a carbon core in the limbs as well. Your right about him being a great bowyer. Thanks for the info.

I have the same bow but mine has recurve limbs too. My bow is bocote and wenge and is a 3 pc with 58" recurve limbs and 62" longbow limbs. I was in the process of ordering another bow when chris had family medical problems. He later returned my deposit and quit taking orders. I love my bow and wanted another but since than started shooting bob lee bows and there outstanding bows and awesome people to do business with, I now have three of them such in life you just move on and shoot something else you love.

It is too bad that he is no longer making bows. I was lucky enough to hunt with one of his Hyestani TD longbows that he donated to the St. Jude's auction. "Faith" helped me kill my first javelina on that trip, and a few other critters. Stabow one the auction, and I later bought it from him. It is on my rack now. A beautiful and nice shooting bow.

Ken, you got that right! He did build a Beautiful Bow! Patrick I should have remembered that. Chris did build a Faith and Hope for Trad Gand! Shows you what a straight up guy he was! Well folks you will not believe who I just got off the phone with! That's right The Man Himself! Chris Sparks! I googled Lewis Hollow and surprisingly his old web page came up. I called his # last night and left a message. Chris called me back this evening. Still the great guy I remember. I can only say this He will be back Folks! I'm hoping he see's this thread and will add to it.

By the way the bow I mentioned that Chris built as his try out bow. Yes it was osage limbs with a beautiful Paudauk riser. Looks to be the same wood as in Patrick pdk 25's bow.

What kind of brace height were you guys using with your LHA 3pc longbow? I've been using about 7-7 1/4" but I don't know that the bowyers recommendations were.

I think 7 1/2 7 3/4? If that's correct then I always go around 7 5/8
