You bet!

One of my dreams is to have a really sweet one-piece recurve made from trees (wood) on my Ohio farm. I've got some great black cherry and chestnut oaks here. Now if I could just find a guy who wants to work with it.

A white oak/persimmon Black Widow is in here, I was looking at it the other day too.

The persimmon veneers are on pg.2 and I think the white oak riser looks great.

Future bow from bamboo and persimmon cut behind my cabin on Mississippi River. Going to make a laminated wood bow boo backed and bellied like the James parker now in the pic. Bought that bow as a rough and finished out.  Fell in love with the boo then
Aim down your arrow because thats where it's going.

I have an ash self bow that I made  from a tree about 60 miles from my home.  Have been cutting  Osage this winter and have three staves that appear to be straight grain and with really good growth rings.

Of course  will have to wait a bit to work on  those.  My  goal is to  kill a deer with all Michigan made equipment. Bow, arrows, feathers and stone head.

and here i thought i had a original idea. i've sent big jim wood for a thuderchild for me. i took mulberry, black oak and plum from my property here in IN and shipped it down to georgia. i got some 50+ year old mahogany my uncle left when he passed several years ago along with a gift of teak from my brother. also some cedar from the old family property. i just gave him artistic license to create a bow both he and i can be proud of. i can hardly wait for the results. i should get the bow next month, lord willing.
