That moment when I realize, my guidence "sunk in"
« on: February 21, 2015, 06:11:00 PM »
One of my Boys (Step son, but I don't treat him as such) he's about to turn 21, asked if he could use one of my bows.  He explained he wanted to get back into shooting, and his friends wanted him to go with them to some 3/d shoots.  His friends all use modern gear and he told me he wanted the challenge of using one of my longbows.  Of course he's welcome to it.  When it was good to see him take up shooting again today.  He shot a lot and shot well.  He shot like how he did back when he was 12 and still thought I was "cool".

Ain't that great. Seems like we start losing boys in archery about the time girls become interesting to them. Good to see them come back. Hope it sticks. Congrates.

I know the feeling Mike! Our daughter moved out to Greeley,CO a couple years ago to start her career as a teacher. She actually called me to see if I would bring her bow out to her when we went out for a visit last weekend    On our way home she sent me a video of her shooting at Rocky Mountain Archery in Ft.Collins!!
Sometimes it just takes a while for that seed to sprout! Just plain awesome!

It's always comforting to see them come back to their roots. I keep hoping that my son will come back to traditional archery again. He is going to be 22 soon. I'm glad for you Mike.
