I think of the production bows you can't beat the Speed of the Howatt Hunter, Super D and Hispeed. I have had them all. I think the Bear, wing and Pearson bows were a little slower at the same weight.
The size of the horns don,t matter
as long as it has a good tale.

In that weight range with that drawlength it would seem a Groves with the broadhead cut out in the riser or a 58" Kodiak.
It is curious that physical courage should be so common in the world and moral courage so rare. ~Mark Twain

Santa brought my first bow back in the early 70's it was a Green 60" Kodiak Hunter 45X which actually is 48#@28".  I have harvested lots of game big and small with that bow.  I have since passed it on to my son and found a mint Green Hunter which is 58#@28".  I have hunted with and own many Top of the line bows, but still alway seem to go back to the K Hunters.

The Saber was one of the fastest bows Martin Archery made. If you get a chance, shoot one and see!

I have a Red Wing that would shoot with most bows out there if you could use modern strings on it.It is the hardest bow to string ever built however.  :)
