A Shot From The Past
« on: February 23, 2015, 10:57:00 AM »
Any of you guys know who this young fellow is. I use to really enjoy looking through his catalog in days gone by. And he had a special name for his catalog. Do any one know how he is doing these days?

Hey John, you are quick to the draw. You have the name right, and the store was the Bow hut, but that is not the name of the catalog(LOL).

Yup, Doug   I can't recall the names but can't wait to hear them again.  That was a couple years ago.

Seems the picture was in the Bowhunters Digest.  May be wrong.  Long time ago.  I remember his quote "small game is big game when you hunt with a bow".

Hey guys let your memory do the search, and not the internet(LOL). I am sure someone will know and remember the name of the catalog. I wish I had kept one of those catalogs.

Fred Bear's books were also called "Archer's Bible".

I'll have to keep an eye out for that Bow Hut version.

Used to get one delivered every year when I was in my teens. I couldn't wait to find a quiet place to read every page ...several times.

Yep, Bill was manager for Doug for a while when he was just getting started in the biz. It's one of Bill's photos that graces the cover of the above catalog picture. A good friend gone too soon.

Let's take the trivia a little farther. What bow hides under those bow socks? What sight?
