I have owned a few Toelke's.
I never tried the HS longbow.What are your guys thoughts on that model?

The new 64" HS whip is a tad quicker, tad more dead in the hand and a tad quieter from my experience. Which is to say that the non hs whip being an extremely fine bow is made a touch better by the slightly more reflexed limb of the hs. If I were to order a 64" Whip, it would be the hs however I wouldn't turn down the non hs.

Have one and love it, but I like the heavier Lynx. Just feels more stable and accurate to me. All personal preference, of course. I do hunt with both and love them both.

Eric, since you have owned Dan's bows you are already aware of how well mannered and made they are. Todd's description of the HS Whip matches my own impression. In a nutshell, I believe it is the single finest bow I have ever shot yet I still find myself shooting Dan's Super Ds 95% of the time, go figure. Jim

I've heard it as high speed and I thought I heard Dan refer to it, a couple years back, as high stack.

HS=High Speed, according to Dan. I talked with him about it in December.

I am a huge fan of Toelke's and I would say the Whip HS is my favorite of all Toelke bows. The other's are fantastic, but there is something about the Whip that is almost magical...

Bought a 60" HS used from a Trad Ganger, he keeps swearing he shouldn't have sold it!

When I go to a shoot, people after the first shot turn and look me straight in the eye and all say the same thing,"How much? I'll buy it right now."

It is everything Todd said, Quick. Quiet. Dead in the hand.

Oh yeah, the bow is NOT for sale.

I've shot/owned almost every style bow Dan has made. I've shot the Whip HS in 60", 62", and now own a 64". I like them all. I'd say this latest 64" HS is my favorite....so much so it's the only one I own. I sold the others

does the HS have carbon in it or something, or a slightly different limb design. What differentiates an HS from the original.

As posted above, it has a little more reflex in the limbs. After trying all of Dan's longbow offerings over the last 10-12 years,other than his Super D, I've settled on his 64" Whip. I now have one with HS limbs and am very impressed. Quicker than the standard Whip, shoots about two lbs faster than marked. A 50 lb bow will shoot the same arrow about as fast as a 52 lb bow. I had reservations about the HS limbs because often more reflex equates to a less stable shooting bow. Not so with the 64" I have. Shooting characteristics feel the same, just a tad quicker. Bow noise is relative to the shooter and the string being used, but the HS sounds the same as the standard Whip. Quiet, but than again different strings create different vibrations.
Can't go wrong with a Toelke either way.

As Todd has already mentioned, the limb design is slightly modified in the HS Whip, there is no carbon.

I don't know if this will help you. I tried to dig through some photos for a comparison. The bow on the left is a 64 HS Whip. Bow on the Right is a 64 non HS Whip. The HS has slightly more reflex. I tried to find a like profile pic but these were all I could find.

Great pic Todd.Thanks again for taking the time to post the pics.

I like the nice long riser fadeouts and the deep cored limb.The center lam looks good with the pinstripe effect.The diminutive tips are desirable as well.Its been awhile since I had a moderate to aggressive hybrid style longbow.I like the comments about the stability of this reflexed limb.I am thinking seriously about these HS longbows.
