Can somebody tell me the differences between Gen 2& 3, Phoenix models etc?

David Mitchell

Get in touch with Bob Morrison--he would be the one best able to explain the differences. He is a sponsor and posts as "bowbldr".
The years accumulate on old friendships like tree rings, during which time a kind of unspoken care and loyalty accrue between men.

I believe the newer Phoenix has cutouts in the riser window to lighten the top portion giving better balance and not needing a stabilizer. Hopefully Bob will come along and elaborate.

Gen 3 has a different shelf 2 Berger holes and cut some weight off buy adding the cut outs.
He will do a new riser anyway you want just with cut outs or not.

Well, I just bought one of his Gen2 models from his website because they are going for a great price! Bob is a fantastic guy to deal with to boot and will answer any questions you have.

If you are going to get one of his Gen2's that's on sale ya better hurry. I think he may only have one of the 17" models left.

Thanks I just bought the Mini 13 Gen 3 he had on sale. Just wondering what the differences were between it and a Phoenix 2

Bob Morrison

Susan, Your riser is actually a Phoenix1. It has a ramped shelf and a few modification(Cosmetic). It was my personal riser and it does have same specs(Limbs angles and set backs as our newest Phoenix other than a Radius-ed shelf, rounded edges, cutouts.

I don't know what version I have.  It is a 17 inch and doesn't have any cut outs in the riser like the new ones do.

As for getting hold of Mr. Morrison, I have had trouble doing so.  I have sent him 2 or 3 emails asking basic stuff and haven't received any replies.  I don't want to call the man and bother him while he's working, so I'm kinda stuck and have to ask questions on other forums of other ILF riser shooters.

Maybe it's because I bought it used, from someone that bought it new.
Kinda disappointing.

GREAT RISER though.

Not implying anything at all, just what I have seen.

Bob responded promptly to an email a couple weeks back.

Sorry Nalajr. Found them If I don't answer e-mail right away they get down on list and forgotten. Keep trying, I try to keep up, doesn't always work. I have no problem talking with anyone about our bows, no matter where you got it.

Bob
