This thread has been an eye opener for me. It seems that the most popular weights are around 50#. I don't know why really, but for some reason I thought the average would have leaned a little more toward higher weight bows. I guess we know what works. That's not to imply that I think there's anything wrong with more weight. Before my rotator cuffs headed south, I shot 60# bows. Just sayin'.

I'd have to agree with this.  Good eye-opener for new shooters too.  Proof that most shoot <50#.

I was just trying to get an idea of the median draw weight most used by members here.  I pretty much have all I need.  The idea is to have a few bows on hand that I can have readily available.

Mike, with the  reputation your company has built I don't think you'll have bows on hand for very long.

Funny numbers but most of my sales have been between 47 lb. and 52 lb. at 28 in. The most have been on the lower end and very few over the 52.
Fact is most of my customers are long in experience and enjoy shooting a lot without hurting too much. I do have a lot of people ask for 47 lb for some reason.
God bless, Steve

51-54, but this winter I have noticed it has taken me longer to get my shooting strength back after a couple months lay off.
Being 62 may have something  to do with it.

Same Here Stephen (Sixby) mid 40's - low 50's, I don't get more than a half dozen requests a year for 60# and up.  But truthfully 60# is about the highest I care to build.  A few I've made that high have been sent back with the request to "take a few pounds off".

39# to 43# @28 inches for 3D.  I shoot light 26-inch arrows.
