Ideas for a spring Hunt
« on: March 13, 2015, 04:21:00 AM »
Hey Everyone.  In mid May will be coming home from Afghanistan after 18 months.  I have managed a few R&R's and only hunted three times in all this time.  I am pretty excited but not sure what to get myself into.

I will be home for the Baltimore Bowman's Traditional Classic in Maryland on the 15, 16, and 17 of May.

Beyond that i am open to suggestions.

Any thoughts on a bow hunt i can get into.  Was thinking Spring Bear.  Carp shooting, Rays on the Chesapeake.

Would love to hear what you all come up with.

Thanks in advance.

Don't have any ideas for you but welcome home, Jack.
The essence of the hunt for me is to enter nature and observe+ return safely occasionally with the gift of a life taken.

First off, thank you for your service. Without you, and the others that serve in our armed forces, we wouldn't be free to enjoy all that we do in this country today. Thank you!

To answer your question, personally, it would be hard for me to pass up a bear hunt if I was in a position to be able to do it. That Stickflingers hunt sure looks like a good time.

Bob. I am not a serviceman. But am a G-man that had spent 11 years overseas and a career protecting our country.  Thanks much for the kind words.

Am looking forward to hearing more of what u all have in mind.

How about Montana spring bears. Anyone have any info ?

Pre-Welcome home Jack!  Hope whatever hunt you choose is a profitable one.  If Not Bear then maybe Hog hunting from one of the many sponsor on here. Or a combo Turkey/Hog hunt?

Well Mr. Jack, get in touch when you get in and maybe we can go after rays or something. Travel safe bud. The family and I are well, I just can't figure out how to stop getting older. Every other hair in my weekend goatee is gray these days, not saying thats not cool or anything.

I liked the light and dark camo effect of my beard in the fall woods for a while. It's more snow camo these days.    :D

Great News, Jack. I can't make Baltimore but glad you will back on home turf for a bit. If you can get back for Denton Hill, we have a bunk for you!
