When removing glue on field points with a torch and pliers , be sure you let them sit on your bench for a while before you just scoop them up into your hand .

You reminded me of lyrics from an old Dan Fogelberg song I haven't heard in 25 years...

"Lessons learned are like bridges burned
You only need to cross them but once
Is the knowledge gained worth the price of the pain?
Are the spoils worth the cost of the hunt?"

Hope the discomfort is short-lived!

This is an opportunity! Sue the hot melt company; no warnings on the glue that it is hot when fire is applied to it. Worked for the woman and the McDonald's coffee in her crotch, so there are probably hoards of lawyers anxious to take your case!

A corollary is "don't wear shorts when using hot melt."  Still have a scar - but only one

Well it reminded me of the city slicker that was watching the blacksmith make a horse shoe .
The blacksmith had just set the shoe down and the city slicker picked it up to look at it and set it down real quick .
The blacksmith asked " Was hot wasn't it ? "
The city slicker said " No , just don't take me long to look at a horse shoe . "

Here is one that is unique to only myself.  When taking a new soy bean seed crate bag down from the garage rafters to make a new target for the year, keep my eyes and mouth shut.  I need to seal up my garage door better. That big brown bat that I flushed out of there last summer was not alone. That bag had hundreds of bat turds on it. Getting them in my shirt pocket and my ear was no big deal, but the one that jumped into my mouth when I screamed like a girl was too much.

Hey, those kitchen stoves with the flush glass top burners don't cool off immediately either!
