Real late season deer

We have 2 counties in southern Maryland that extended the deer season until March 31.  Had one that decided to take a ride in my truck.

Nice! I wish I had some big game hunting opportunities this time of year. Congrats!

Way to go!  As Charlie mentioned, we need a hunt story!  It has been a long winter.     :bigsmyl:

Without a story Terry we will all think it was a road kill:)  Is that the  50# Centaur.

I'm guessing the road kill possibility is why they have such a long season in that area. glad to somebody out taking advantage of the hunting opportunity!

Well about 5:30 had three heading my way feeding mostly on dead leaves and tree buds from saplings.  At less then 25 yards my fingers are starting to get tight on the string when my phone starts to ring.  Forgot to turn the phone off.   :knothead:   Not just any ring, but a special funny ring to identify one friend who calls a lot.  It says ring ring please pick up your phone ring ring.  This one isn't the same one but close.

I finally found the off button without them seeing me and turned it off but they didn't like it.  The big roman nose doe didn't move for about 20 minutes but the other 2 started feeding after 5 or 10.  I got to full draw once but the deer turned and I had to let down.  Two more times I got to half draw and finally made a 13-14 yard shot on a slow walking turning deer that only went 35 yards after the shot.

Congrats Terry on taking a nice Doe. It looks like I have to find some property down in those 2 counties, so that I can continue to hunt this late into the season.
