11-12 gr. per pound
« on: March 22, 2015, 12:19:00 PM »
How many shoot 11-12 gr. per pound. I got about 3.5 dozen of Beman MFX Classics 500. I use the 75 gr. insert and my heads are 150- 170 gr. Just picked up a nice Timber Ghost that is lighter in draw than what ive been shooting.  would like to keep trajectory close to my other bows.

Usually 11-12gpp for Doug Fir's, 40-48#'s. can get 10-11 with spruce.
So I guess 10-12, mostly around 11.

11-12 seems like the perfect combination of speed, trajectory, penetration and noise.  It brings out the good manners in any bow that I have owned.

I'm shooting Doug Fir at 570+ from 50@26.  That's about 11.5 gpp.

I am shooting cedar arrows that are 30 inches  with a 125 grain zwickey up front out of a 45# @ 28 recurve.  They weigh from 495 to 511 grains total.  If I calculated right they are 16 grains per inch total
