Double treestand set up
« on: March 22, 2015, 11:23:00 PM »
This season, my 10 year old son will be bowhunting with me.  I have a few double ladderstands, but I am looking for any set up tips for two hang on set ups.  Or a single ladder stand and a hangon for me.  Thanks for your input!!

When i hang 2 stands for me and the kids I put them side my side with myself on the down wind side. This way the kids get all the shooting zones  and I usually stand and face the tree (behind the kids) so i can talk to them and im right in their ear.
I also climb up with my lineman belt and hang my stand. Then attach a tether at the top so I can control the line thru a prussic knot at the top. I then lower the other end down and the kid attaches the other stand to the rope. I bring it up and hang the stand. Then lower the tether line back down and they attach it to their harness and as they climb up I control the slack on the prussic knot at the top.
When they head down I feed the line thru the prussic as they descend.
 Works like a champ!!
