Found three deer at only water around, small pond, this a.m. in Parke Co. In. Buck died in velvet but one doe was fresh and floating. Hope 7-8 big bucks make it. Any one else in west central In. run into this yet? John Benetti

John,
Haven't found any dead in Parke Coutny this year. I did find 27 total last year in mid September all near or in water in Parke county. So far this year I have seen no signs of EHD where I wonder around.

There was a case found on Atterbury few weeks ago. Found a buck in velvet 75 yards from a pond , coulda been car hit though . Hard telling. Need some cold weather.
I guess the midges that carry the disease hatch from the mud that gets exposed when theres a lack of water.
There sure is alot of air around a squirrel...eeyup.

Found in Highland Co Ohio as well. That's only a couple counties NE of me.
