I did improve a little, this was at 10 yards.
I even got a bullseye.

Yep, I'm hooked.

You must be doing it right...you're shooting better groups than many of us old timers.

Wow, thanks!  I took an archery lesson at a place near me.  The instructor was very patient and explained things very well to me.  I am also getting lots of guidance from other seasoned archers that come there to practice.  I am very grateful to them and this site. Very grateful.

I can't take too much credit-I was using a starter bow...

Sounds to me like you're a natural!  I've been pretty much learning and shooting on my own too, and this place has been a wealth of helpful information and support. Good folks here.

You will probably end up meeting with some of 'em down your way. Meanwhile, you'll find a welcome to all or any questions.

Welcome, from the Green Mountain State.

Welcome!

I've been here for years, hunted and shared many a campfire with some fine people from this site and I live here in Aussie!

Enjoy the journey, ask as many questions as you like as you'll always get the answers here.

Cheers,
Ak.

Hi. Welcome.  I'm a new member too.  I understand the adrenaline rush.  I'm having lessons through my husband, Mudd.  It's awesome when you let the arrows fly!!!  I hope you have as good of a time learning as I am.

Welcome to our campfire, Liz!!!!!  :campfire:

By the looks of things, you're doing VERY well!!! Shooting better than me... I couldn't hit water, if I fell out of a boat!
I only shoot WOOD arrows... My kid makes them, fast as I can break them!

You'll have to drive on over to Tannehill park in June for the Howard Hill Classic. Lots of wonderful scenery, people (men, women and younguns) and as much shootin as you can handle. You can even meet one of your neighbors from Albany Ga., Big Jim trust me you cant miss him. Great guy and he'll have all kinda goodies. Lots of other sponsors from Trad Gang will be there as well. Follow the Events and Gatherings forum for updates. Welcome and good shooting   :clapper:

Thank you everyone for the encouragement.  It has been a rough 2 years for me, and things are starting to get better.  When I am shooting I feel peace.  I am looking forward to someday meeting some of you.

Thanks Possum, I just might check out that event!

I just read this thread through. You went from holding a bow for the first time, to shooting some nice groups in a hurry.    keep up the good work, and have fun.

Welcome again from WV. That was great to hear how you shook all over the first time you held a bow. That is about how I feel about the sport. Good luck in all you do.
