Magnus classic or Stinger?
« on: April 06, 2015, 05:24:00 PM »
Going to start using some 2 blade broadheads. My choices are between the Magnus Classic(from Thundervalley archery), or the Magnus Stinger. Anyone have any recommendations in terms of quality, easiest to sharpen etc.? Also keep in mind that I use a mill file to sharpen.

Also if you have any recommendations besides Magnus, feel free to share.

Both good choices, might also look at Simmons Sharks, and Grizzly from Zipper bows. The Classic may be easier to file  but the Grizzly also takes a file very well.

All depends on what weight you want.

If you want to sharpen with a file get the Classics.

Agree the classic will Sharpen easier and if not vented quieter in flight.. But the stingers will hold an edge longer and they will not rust up Being stainless steel. You can get 150 gr stimgers too. I also think the stingers will spin truer.
Either one won't disapoint   ;)

have used both and they are both great. i call the old Magnus I "the flying hatchet"! it has put a hurt on several critters for me.

i use 150-grain Stingers as my go-to, however. it is equally effective. i am sharpening-challeneged and have to have a buddy sharpen all mine for me, so that's not an issue for me.
