Does anybody store bows in a safe?
« on: April 09, 2015, 04:46:00 PM »
Gang

I just had the thought the other night that I probably have more money hanging on my bow rack than I do in my gun safe.  Does anybody store theirs bows in a safe?  Maybe I am the last one to the party but the thought just never crossed my mind until now.

Nope. My situation's reversed. Only a couple high dollar bows, but no room left in the safe where the cheapest guns are worth as much as the high dollar bows.

Anything of value goes in my safe when I travel including what T/D bows that don't travel with me.  Why not?

When we leave for extended periods of time all the custom takedowns go in the gun safe. The rest of the time I store them hanging on my bow rack.

Nope... Gotta have SOMETHING hanging on the wall!!!!!

All the guns are in the safe for "liability" reasons, rather than "security"..... If your guns disappear, the first words out of the cops mouth is "Why did you have them in the first place... and why weren't they locked up?????"

I wish my longbows would fit in the safe. Most of my guns could easily be replaced but the longbows are all custom and to me irreplaceable.

I hadn't thought of this before but it is a good point. If my bows get stolen I can always make more but I have some with sentimental value, my late wife's for instance.

I have a whopper of a gun safe, very tall for my flintlocks. I will fill it up with my bows the next time I travel.

Always when I travel. I have a big one that holds my PLX. I wouldn't leave it in there long term though cause it has to stand on end.

I was thinking about it also. Just received my new centaur takedown. I may have to make some room in the safe.

For those of you who do not have much room, take a couple 1" self tapping screws and install them on the inside door panel. I then take some mason's line and make a loop system so that I can hang my 3 piece take down case on the door. Easy on and off.And it does not bump or interfere with the guns in the safe.

I do. I have a walk in safe I built when I built my house. Usually  the bow I am shooting is out but everything  else is in the safe
