Shoulder & back exercises (Video)
« on: April 10, 2015, 08:25:00 PM »
I have yet to try these, but they appear to be some excellent exercises. Perhaps these will help me avoid future shoulder injuries. What are your thoughts?

Finally someone who really understands the movement that can be used to draw a bow.  They look to be good exercises and emphasize that it is the shoulders and back and NOT the arms that do the work.  Lateral (horizontal) shoulder movement not up and down movement.

IF you have the resources, these appear to be good exercises.

Thanks for sharing.   I have been working out more and strengthening back, shoulders and arm to for archery and going to try these.  Looks like in archery and working out form is everything!

I have been following his routine for ages and do these exercises religiously at least 3 times a week.  I never really had any problems, but I am feeling much stronger and more flexible when shooting my bow.  I can lock on anchor and hold longer.  However, I think the best thing is the 'pinch'.

This is not a normal movement that we follow in an exercise routine, or everyday use of out sholders.  I believe that is the key to why this routine is so good.  It is making us use the full range of movement for our shoulders, but in a stable, slow moving manner that will not create injury.  By holding that 'pinch', it is building into our shoulders and back an 'insurance policy', against injury later on.  They only take a few minutes to do and I challenge everybody to get on this regime. I have built up and do them now with small weights - I could not at the beginning, but obviously my shoulders have strengthened, so I am able to build and load on more resistance.

Thanks for posting ... Snag had posted these a while back and I forgot to save the link. These are really good for my aging shoulders.

Looks simple but you can work up a pretty good sweat

Thanks for your thoughts on these exercises. The consensus that these are worthy exercises to strengthen shoulder and back muscles is reassuring to me. I'm looking forward to trying these.
