New bow is here-TallTines
« on: April 15, 2015, 12:03:00 AM »
In my opinion Brian outdid himself with this one. Won't have a new home until after I pass away as I refuse to be buried haha. Hopefully my wife doesnt sell it for what I told her I paid for it haha!

Anyways she is 57@28 I dda about 29 1/4 or so. 62"
Antler limb bolts are on the way.

Bow has myrtle limb veneers, a Chechen riser w/bocote flair. Grip is checkered. Also has whitetail Dee antler tips.

Its wearing a Thunderhorn Lynx custom quiver, throwing Easton Axis trad shafts. Not sure what it likes yet for point weight, i'll get to that tomorrow.

I absolutely love this bow, unbelievably quiet, no hand shock and throws an arrow very fast. I will chrono it after I get nock sets tied.

Who wants to post pictures of the best bow I've ever shot?

That'll work!  Little heavy for me but I might still need to try that.

Beautiful bow Jacob.
You should use a bow quiver with bolt fixation or strapped around riser rather than limbs to get the very best of your bow though

a limb strapped quiver such as this will have no effect on this fine bow positioned where it is against the riser.

I have always liked thunderhorn quivers, and that Lynx matches that bow perfectly.

the limbs are the dynamic part of the bow. Whatever you strap on the limbs will affect more or less dynamic efficiency. Even if the archer "feels" no change or "can" shoot properly. On the first pic quiver Is attached not that close to riser, and that part of the limb close to fade out flex a little at full draw. Plus, when  hunting or practising for long days this type of quiver has a trend to slide further on the limbs.
Myself for years used that kind of quiver with some wins like the Monster rusa deer of my Avatar and many more trophy game. Until i noticed a better accuracy and a tad more dynamic efficiency with quiver mounted on riser. Just a free advice here, and a beautiful quiver indeed       :)
I am sorry to hacked a bit your topic Jacob

Thanks everybody. From bareshaft tuning,  looks like she prefers 30.125 with 215 gr up front.

Going to use 125 grain heads, 4 blade buzzcuts and VPA 125's.

I wonder when fletched if 25 more grains of tip weight will make a difference?
