Traditional Tattoo Longbows
« on: May 02, 2015, 04:06:00 PM »
At the Legend's shop we are always attempting to push the boundaries of the traditional archery equipment that we produce.  What we have discovered is an idea that has not only been tapped into before but has never even been put out there as a possibility.  What the idea came to be was to splice together the two worlds of traditional tattoos with our traditional bows.  Each design is hand drawn on the riser with a high quality black ink pen, stained with a wood finish, then sprayed for the final time with a clear coat varnish.  Below are some pictures of what has been created so far.  And there will be plenty more to come!

That's cool, I have been thinkin about having some black glass limbs pin striped like the old hot rods but in drab colors. It might give them some character? What do you guys think?

Not unlike some instruments that have some ink work done on them, my wife's hardingfela (Norwegian hardanger fiddle)  comes to mind.  Could do some interesting custom work for folks who like it.

Steve Jr. That would be an awesome idea.  I have also thought about doing that.  Maybe paint a whole bow flat black and do pin striping all over the limbs in red and white paint. Then maybe draw a pin up girl on the side.

Really like the looks of that girl...don't tell my wife lol. Seriously, those are cool. I believe I've commented on them before. It's artwork on a piece of art.
