I shot tabs forever until three years ago. I bought an Elk Big Shot and really liked it until it got soft....then had issues such as yours. I think the big shot would be a good glove for an occasional shooter pulling light poundage but for me it was a bust.
In comes the American Leathers Crossover. Much more robust and the inserts take a good pull over a longer frequency of shootings without developing the "groove" but it will (and did) happen eventually. At that point I was a daily shooter for about a year or more. The leather was not an issue but the inserts did take a set.
I had a talk with John at American Leathers and asked him to make another glove with a stiffer insert...they did and it was a marvel until I had to drop 10# in draw due to a shoulder problem.
A good tab works best for me now but if I was pulling in the low 50s and higher, I would still be shooting the Crossover. Top quality!
