What's the 1 call you always have with you in the field?
Mine is an H S Strut mouth call.
It's a good day for something.

Cherokee Slim box call. It is an amazing little call, I get more responses from it than all the others combined. Takes 2 hands to operate, the only drawback .

Primos "The Freak" glass call that straps to my leg, can use it with one hand. I use a slate type call 95% of the time.

lol a tramp stamp slate call I found while hunting public land.  The slate had detached from the pot and it appeared that someone had thrown it out.  I took it home and glued the slate back in, and all the birds I've called in have been on that call.

Old slate top call I bought from a guy who made them some 30 years ago.  Met the guy woods and picked up a call when we got back to our cars.  Many a turkey have come to that call that cost me $10.00

I carry about a dozen different mouth calls from lots of makers , I get great results with a high pitch and low(raspy) pitch call mixed together.

I had a Dick Kirby Grave Digger box call that was my go to, but I stinkin lost it this year. Retraced my tracks or so I thought and couldn't locate for anything.  So depressing.  I looked online and turns out it hasn't been made in years and couldn't even find one for sale.  Last used one went for almost $80. It'd had a hand in every bird I've gotten except my first bird and the one I got this spring since I lost it!  Very depressed.

Now, I have a Lights Out Osage slate by Wendall Rye I'm very fond of that as a slate is my go to call.  It's 2 for 2 and it and my Hooks mouth call got my bird in completely this year.  I just have no box call now.

My old standby is Quaker Boy's pro triple mouth call, but I always have a QB twin two, a QB kee kee, and a QB slate with me too.

Sorry to hear about your lost box call, it stinks to lose an old friend like that.
