My son has the bug now
« on: May 11, 2015, 11:35:00 AM »
Took the kids shooting Saturday and my son saw this bow hanging on the rack. He asked if he could could shoot it and loved it. Very cool as I have been bitten lately also. So he buttered up mama with  hugs and kisses and now he has a recurve also. (His Xmas gift from me was a new Mission compound though).

Not the greatest quality but ohh well. I would have rather paid a little more and got him a Bear though he shoots this one like a house a fire.

Pretty good looking form there! Kids seem to be "naturals".

Makes me remember my first bow.

After shooting at a target for awhile, get some balloons and blow them up about halfway, some plastic golf balls, etc. You talk about having fun!!! Shooting at a variety of targets of different sizes keeps it fun.

Good shooting!

Little bugger seems to excel at everything he does but does have a temper. My little girl absolutely loves archery and hunting with me though. She goes every chance. She just turned 8 and he will be 10 soon

Thanks for the kind words. They are my pride and joy.

That's Great.  Enjoy it for now until he discovers Girls. You will have this time to butter him up and he will be back after he gets married.

I am happy for you.

There isn't much I like to see more than kids shooting a bow. They're so receptive to it, and they enter into it with such an open mind. It's a beautiful thing, I'm happy for you all.

Who knows Charlie, maybe he'll find some girls that like archery... The best of both worlds.   ;)

Sorry, I'm not sure what I just did. Computers and I aren't the best of friends.

I sure hope he does.
I hope my little girl finds somebody that love to hunt and fish. Most of hunting partners died or the younger ones have babies and can't go.

No picture of her shooting yet, here is a picture of my foster daughter and granddaughter. She is from Guinea on the west coast of Africa, and are showing a growing interest in archery.

That's a great picture Trond. I love your Granddaughters smile. Congrats again.

My grandsons, ages 3 and 5, show more interest in archery all the time. I exposed them to it early, make shooting as fun for them as I can, and don't push them. We do a lot of other things when they're her too, but when Mom and Dad ask what they did while they were here, the first thing they talk about is shooting their bow.

I hope your Granddaughter grows to love archery as much as her Grandpa.

Success in the field is no doubt, a desired result and great accomplishment for any traditional bow hunter....but being able to share the tradition and spirit of traditional archery and bow hunting with our young ones and generations to come, is by far the most rewarding.    :campfire:
