Very fine bear .... I saw the Wizard Lake Outfitters at Pope & Young in AZ this spring, looked like they have some whopper whitetails in that country too !!

Finally home, loved the hunt but it's always good to be home.
I have such a great wife that coming home is always a pleasure. I have been blessed in many ways.
We didn't weigh any of the Bears, early spring is not a true indication of their weight. After a full summer of filling their bellies
The Fall weight is a more true indication of their actual size.
Wizzard Lake Outfitters has some great deer hunting but it's
Not in this area. We were in upper Alberta, not far from the North West Territories. The deer hunting takes place near the Edmonton bow zone.
We had a joke in camp about one of their bait sites. Take a right at the second Igloo and go to the first glacier, bait is on the left.
It was a Boar, you wont get any sows that size. They put a 5 ft. Log at each bait and tell you a sow will never be longer than that. May be really big around but not longer. They encourage shooting only mature Boars, that's one of the ways to tell the difference.

Thanks again guys. Gibs, the hunt was six days. How many bears you seen was determined by what bait you sit. There were baits that had four to six bears per sit. Some only one,
But those baits were the home of some giant bear, you either saw him or nothing. I sat a bait two evenings saw nothing, but
A huge 7' plus bear owned it, was worth the chance.
I saw 2 to 4 bear per sit except for the two dry days. I think
One guy saw seven one afternoon, the most I can remember.
Everyone in camp except me either shot or missed a 7' plus
Bear. Mine was 6'8", hard to complain about that.
