Some experimenting today
« on: May 25, 2015, 08:44:00 PM »
I recently switched back to aluminum arrows, Easton XX75 2117.  I was shooting Gold Tip Trads for a few years.  With the Gold Tips I was paper tuned perfect with 5" RW on a 29.5" arrow.  I swithed to the aluminum arrows and did some paper shooting with 5" RW, tail high.  I also took some shots from 25 yards, man you could see them fly bad.  So I fletched some 4" RW and started over.  Shooting bullet holes in paper and they fly great, shot some from 30 yards to watch arrow flight.

I do not have a chrono, nor am I gonna buy one anytime soon.  I am getting better penetration in the target with the aluminum vs. the carbon.

I am looking forward to getting this set up out to the 3d course sunday with the guys.
