I am .........I'm ready......well almost. Taking my Zipper ILF with Dyrad Static limbs [2 sets] and a 2 pc. Mohawk longbow as back up. Been shooting the close shots and looking at Bears to have an idea on judging their size.......getting excited.

I'm getting ready. Taking my Fedora Ishi longbow with some arrows that Mike Shaw and I made a couple years back. My back up bow will be a real nice two piece static recurve with snake skin backs; not sure who made that one, but they sure did a good job of it. I'm still unsettled on what type of camouflage to wear; anyone have any suggestions? I've got flecktarn, Asat (but it looks like fall), all kinds of plaid, and of course my USMC digital.

I think just about any camo will be fine a long as it's silent. Fleece or wool is what I'm thinking.

I have tons of wool/wool camp, was worried about the temperature being too hot to wear wool.

You guys will have a blast. I wish I could go every year. You are right about the camo Ron. I would stick with darker colors but I think blue jeans and a dark colored t-shirt would probably be fine to be honest. Bears don't have the greatest eyesight in the world. Don't forget a thermo-cell or two and practice that 3-5 yard shot. And don't forget pictures and stories for us less fortunate when you get back.

I'm preparing for next year as there Havnt been any contenders on the st.judes auction!
It will be very hot there. I'd advise against wool I'd personally take cotton or nylon light weight stuff as it will be quiet and keep the bugs off. One of the guys that was there the year I was just wore camo bug netting with nothing underneath.. Get a thermacell if you don't have one. It was worth it's weight in gold. Oh and earplugs or headphones if you have a hard time bunking up with snorers!

I'm getting ready too. I dug out my Super Kodiak as my back up but I am shooting it so well, it's going to be my primary bow. It's also got some great Mojo. I took my first trad deer with it on my 3rd sit with a stick bow. He was 6.5+ years old and 250#s. I just don't ever really shoot it and don't know why!

Good luck guys! Can't wait for the stories. Last year was a little cooler than the one before. Not cold though. A light jacket was plenty. It is pretty green up there, and pretty dark around the stands.

Good luck the last two times I went I used two thermacells b/c at the time the first one runs out is about time for the bears to come in so I brought two and turned on the second one about an hour after the first to cut down any movement at a critical time.Wish I was going.Kip

That's twice now I've heard to bring two Thermacells. Looks like I'm heading back out to Wally World to buy another one tomorrow.

Yeah. I went 2 years ago and also staggered starting the thermacells. When the first went out, you could actually see the wall of black flies move closer!

What a disappointment for me can't get there this year either was hoping I'd heal up by the time, that's now and no where near healed with a bunch of issues yet to get fixed. Concussion trying to heal from that has me sideways yet unable to drive very far. I have been dreaming of that bear from last year all year.Thought I could have gotten it in but I'm just fooling myself.Darn it all.
Good Luck guys.
