I've got a 72 I shot a little buck with a couple of years ago.  Thinking of using it on my bear hunt this fall.

I thought it was Owen Jeffery's design.

The Hill bows are busting my chops. When I feel in a rut or absolutely worthless, I can pick up a K Mag or my Chimera and shoot flies' eyes.

Killdeer,

I'm pretty sure Owen helped design the Bear Super Magnum which came out in 1966. The Kodiak Magnum came out in 1961 during Bill Stewart's time.

There's no doubt that Owen is a true master who rarely gets credit for his genius...but Bill was also a genius.    ;)

Got a 35lber for my daughter recently. Fit an finish is really nice, grip is perfect. Nothing to do w Kamgs but I saw 2 new Grizzlys at a dealer yesterday. One was very nice the other had a horrible grip that was never finished being shaped at the factory. I should offered em cheap $ and took it home and fixed it.

I've got my Dad's camo'd 1971 that he killed a bunch of deer with

 a good-looking '69 tigerwoody with black tips,
both 50#  I got a really sweet '67 lefty, 45#, from Denny Sturgis in a trade.
I cant shoot them as accurately as my longer bows with heavier risers(did somebody mention Owen Jeffery?), but they are great fun to carry in the woods and keep nearby in a blind.

I've adopted too many bows that needed a good home.

Mine is a '70 or '71 and even with my draw, which is a little over 28", I shoot it just fine. Better than my 60" Kodiak Hunter in fact. I build my own ground blinds, and I think this bow will get the job this season!

Lets not forget, Denny Behn, partners with G. Fred at Bighorn, did a short recurve with simular design!

I double love'em.  Just a love affair of my first bow like a kids first horse.  It was a new 1962 K Mag.  But I would not buy another now cause I like what I got.  Just a "why change now thing" - but sure really really loved that first bow.  Great real high up in those old sycamore trees too, but I have a 52-inch Red Wing Hunter for climbing trees.  Don't climb so much any more either 'cause as the old saying goes we have all heard - "Don't bounce too good anymore".

I've got two, both late 60's, one brown and the other green. I'll figure out how to put em on here some time.

I have several bows in my herd , but my old K-Mag just keeps sneaking out the door sometimes when I am going out to the range .

They are a fine bow....owned 13 Bears at one time. Bought my grandson a vintage Kodiak Magnum as his first bow. He still has it. They will always be a great choice.

Not sure why I haven't posted on here yet, but, I love my K-Mag! It was my first brand new recurve. It was a couple of years old when I bought it, but it's an '07 model, I believe. I shot the green glass anniversary edition first (and loved it) but, it was $100 more, so I got the older, less pretty model instead. It still goes with me pretty often. It was the bow that made me appreciate the short bow's manuverability, and part of the reason that I still prefer them (although I'm more into short longbows now).

I have a Greenie that shoots pretty nice. Id like to find one from the nineties that has the brown and gray riser in 45 - 47#s. Im 6 ft tall and can sit on the ground and shoot this bow just fine, love it!
