fletching clearance and brace height
« on: June 05, 2015, 08:37:00 PM »
After many long shooting sessions and tinkering I finally found an arrow set up that has my bare shafts hitting with my fletched shafts out to 25 yds. If anyone is curious it is a 30" traditional only 500 spine shaft with a 200grain point and standard aluminum insert out of a 45lb Omega original reflex/deflex longbow. In order to get this set-up perfect I had to set my brace height to 6". I was wondering if it would be a potential issue because my 5" fletchings have about 1/2" contact with my arrow rest/ riser when my bow is at rest. Thoughts?

I don't think it will matter other than wear on feathers.
If you fletch your own arrows you could modify them a little.
Maybe move them back slightly and trim the front a little.
