I did it again
« on: June 06, 2015, 07:11:00 PM »

This fella had never shot a bow before in his life . It was like a blank slate . His form came in perfect as I talked him thrue it and he did it correct every time he shot .
This group was at 15 yards about 20 minutes after his very first arrow .
I think his statement was " Oh my God this is so much fun . "
Then the questions , how much is a bow , where do I get arrows , .....
I think he is infected .

Nicely done

That bow is a Dwyer Dauntlessly 55# @ 28".
Funny thing is , he is a rifle paper poker .
He told me he tried a compound about a year ago and couldn't understand the point of it .
He isn't a hunter but the first arrow of that group was about an inch from hitting the bottle cap and I said " that's a dead deer ."
And he said "really !?  "
I was amazed that after I talked him threw a few shots his form was near perfect .
He then asked " how do I aim it ? "
I told him to just shoot and his subconscious would do it for him . Told him to just drop the string when it feels right .
Didn't even explain the gap method .

It is absolutely infectious when you let a guy that has never shot a bow before shoot yours and he hits his spot.  Always makes me smile.

Truly some people are naturals. My son did the same thing with the first bow I made him. He was a compound shooter and after the first shot at 30 yards he stacked the next five arrows in a tight group right under the bull. Like he had been shooting a stick bow all his life. Its really amazing.

God bless, Steve
