to warm to be Christmas, but...
« on: June 15, 2015, 04:20:00 PM »
it may be 90 and humid but i'm as excited as a 5 yr old on Christmas morning!
came home today and found two boxes on the porch; one really long one and one really small one. i'll start with my the small one- my custom st. judes knife made by the father and son team of thaddeus and lil thad. what an awesome job they did ! wish i knew how to post pics. it has a brown and green cord handle and two form fitted sheaths; one kydex and one leather. sharp as all get out and they even threw in a sweet hat as well!  once again, great job with contributing to the kids! i'll take great pride in using this knife.
second box,
my new-old bow. my new 1969 bear kodiak hunter just arrived and it is a thing of beauty. again sorry no pics.( yet ) classic design and feels great in the hand. shot a few quick arrows out of it before a storm just hit, and it is soft and quiet. 45# at 28 and was throwing and arrow fast and straight!
more to come...

I managed to have a couple of high bids, too, and have been thrilled to find St Jude packages on my stoop the past couple of days.

i should have more st judes goodies coming this week as well.
i love this time of year! shot the bow last evening with a beautiful set of arrows that i had ordered from dave at wilderness custom arrows a few years back, and they flew dead on and pretty quick for a 45 pounder; it also seemed to like my gt 35/55's cut to 29 1/2" with  225 up front.
as for the sweet knife, i can't wait to get it dirty on the first deer of the season . if anyone is planning on bidding on one next year, ( assuming thad and lil thad offer one again ) you will have to get past me! i'm planning on starting a collection! they also sent the original letter that was posted on the auction which i thought was a really nice touch.

Congrats on the win this year John! If I hadn't already promised myself I was getting "Hope" no matter what id of gave you a little more competition this year! Lol
FYI , I'm already saving for next year in hopes the Thad's come thru again!
Thanks for your donations and thanks to the Thad's for their awesome contribution!!  The kids are the real winners!

I've adopted too many bows that needed a good home.
