Which Arrow Dynamic arrow to get??
« on: June 15, 2015, 05:42:00 PM »
I'm in the process of getting a left handed recurve that will be 53@28.. Drawing 28.. The bow is 3/16" past center . I like a little heavier arrow overall and was curious which of the AD arrows would suit me best? I plan on shooting the Simmons Safari (205gr) up front. Do I need the 100'gr brass insert or the standard insert? Also, when I cut my arrow to normal length , 29.75" throat of nock to BOP, do I cut my arrow from the back or front of the tapered shaft?? Thanks, Seth

I have great results with Hammer Head Trads (55-70)  with the aluminum inserts, 200 grain VPA three blade heads out of a Black Widow MAII, 60# at 28" with a draw of 27".  Right handed but that shouldn't make a difference.  Arrows cut to 29.5.

You cut from the point end as the ADs are tapered on the nock end.

Actually, they are parallel ...tapered....and parallel again.  So if you DO cut off the back end, the nocks still fit.....BUT, its best NOT to cut off the back...cut off the front.

I would say Trad Regulars with that length and point weight(you might need brass insert) if you really do have a true 28 inch draw...if not....Trad Lites.
