2015 Hunting Rig Thread
« on: June 19, 2015, 07:31:00 PM »
Fellers its getting that time again! Getting pictures of good bucks hitting the minerals, which in turn is putting blisters on my right hands fingers! This thread is always in my top 3 favorites of the year, so lets see them! What are taking to the woods this year? How about some specs as well, might help a beginner too.

Heres mine:

Omega Imperial 40#@28" shooting pink 30.75" Gold Tip Nugents 500  (takes a man    ;)  ) pushing 210gr of Zwickey Delta up front.

Cant wait to perform some population control     :campfire:

Oh yea! Looking forward to this one! I'll be shooting one of my TallTines bows 60# at 29" either 58" or 60" I'll be shooting yellow fetching as always. I'm not sure what arrows yet but whatever I can get to fly well with my favorite Snuffer 145 grain broadheads.

They leave a hole:

I hunted all of 2014 with my Black Widow MA-ll Recurve and took 6 deer with it, using Goldtip 5575 wood grain traditional arrows and 3 blade 250GR VPA broadheads. It is 60" long and 62LBS @ my 31 1/2" draw.

This year 2015, I will be hunting with my Dale Stahl 2 piece take down Longbow. The bow is 62" long and 61LBS @ my 31 1/2" draw. I am using it with a modified Selway 5 arrow side mount quiver. If you look close you can see how I modified it by using a bracket that I got from Home Depot and mounted it to a Great Northern 5 arrow holder. I did not like the wide splayed arrow holder that came with the Selway. These camo arrows are Goldtip 5575 which are my summer time Groundhog hunting arrows tipped with 3 blade Snuffers and small game stoppers. In the fall the the quiver will be loaded with Goldtip 5575 wood grain traditional arrows and Black Diamond Delta 4 blade broadheads with 100 GR steel broadhead adapters.

Got this new Bear Kodiak Mag from Big Jim this year on a whim. Forgot how much fun these little bows are...
So, leaving the longbow at home and concentrating with this one this year...hopefully I'll get out a little more than last year.
Crazy work schedule only allowed about 4 days total....
