2018 XX75 out of a 62-65 lb recurve

I am preparing to use a new recurve bow for the first time this year. I would like to use 2018 xx75 Easton shafts I have on hand. With a 100 gr. Mangus broadhead how short would I have to cut these to get good performance?

I would leave them full length and begin shooting to see what kind of flight you get. The extra length is going to break the spine down so if the arrows are to weak start cutting some of the arrow back until you get it right. jmo

Good Question! When I measured my draw a few years ago it was 30". I ordered the custom bow for 65lb at 30". With the heaver bow, my draw legnth is now 28 1/2". I just remeasured my draw using the bow and an uncut arrow and marked and measured.  I have a bunch of 2018's measuring from uncut down to 31". BTW, at 28 1/2" I'm guessing the bow is pulling between 58 &60 lb. No scale for accurate measurment though.

I shoot 2018s and have the arrows cut at 28.5 and shoot 56 pds and I belive that I'm right at the edge of being underspined, I've done quite a bit of testing and I think you'll be pushing it.

they bare shaft pretty weak out of my 67 @31 recurve with 125 gr. hds.

Going to be way weak.  You are on the edge of a 2216 shaft with that setup.

I tried using 2018 for my new Turkey Creek Longbow and I found that they did not workout, my Longbow 42# @ 29", so I switched to the axis 500's and they are working out great (426 g) with a 125 stinger upfront,

I do have 5 2018 XX75's, I don't think I can use them for anything, because when I do go to a higher poundage its most likely going to be 48#at a highest.  I really enjoyed at 42#, it shoots straight and accurate.

2315's should will fly perfectly from that bow and weight.

In my experience a bow that centershot or cut just slightly past center is more forgiving and capable of handling a greater range of spines.

way to weak in my opinion  you are going to have to go with 2216s or 2117  for aluminums

I shoot 29", 2018 arrows with 125 grain Magnus 2 blade heads out of my 62 pound, at my draw length, Massie "Longhorn" and they fly great. My draw length is 27 and 3/4 to 28". The arrows weigh in at 540 grains.
