My Archery Wall
« on: June 22, 2015, 10:22:00 AM »
This is my wall to archery at work. I was just going to print and frame a couple of old archer's that had somehow set in motion and even sparked my love of archery. But what was to go on a small wall... well it just wouldn't fit.

Now I know that there are others that could be on this wall. And I still have a little room left here and there but these are the key folks for me. The Witchery of Archery was the first book I ever read on the subject of archery. Who hasnt read Hunting with the Bow and Arrow or Hunting the Hard Way. There was a post just recently of Swinehart and his hunting exploits. I will have to read all of these again. Pope and Young what can you say these gentilmens attire was above reproach and I will have to try one of these seasons to hunt while wearing a tie.

Ishi the catalyst

By the way does anyone know if you can get Swineharts writings on ebooks?

Jay Massey and Glen StCharles take center stage. Both of these men set the spark for my interest in building and hunting with selfbows. They are also the only ones I met in person.

Some may question Aldo Leopold and arhery but there is no question for me that conservation and land health should be on all of our minds.

Picture is a little blurry.

That is a great room! Nice pronghorn too.
There is a place for all God's creatures....right next to the potatoes and gravy.

Thanks guys. I love the interest it generates from people who come in to my office. Everything from cool old pictures to who are these guys. Then I get to pick a couple and tell them some great archery history/stories.
