How many.....
« on: June 24, 2015, 03:34:00 PM »
....like me take at least a month and half off from shooting. My bows/arrows are in hiatus now that Bass/Walleye season is here. I'll start again in August to fling arrows.

For me, the break brings time to enjoy my other hobby. When I do get back to shooting, it's with renewed enthusiasm and after a few days, right back on track. I told my hunting buddy Bamboo, the only 2 bows I'm hunting with this fall will be his Longbow and Kempf longbow.

Seriously thinking about selling my LH Fedora, won't see much action if any this fall. My favorite one piece...Groves Spitfire....might sit this one out also.

The 100 degree heat here is keeping me sidelined for the moment. Need to get back to it soon, elk season is right around the corner.

That's cool Joe... but I shoot almost everyday... just enjoy it too much. Sometimes I think I might shoot better if I took a break though.

Looking forward to my Kempf K.S. that is coming soon... like early fall.

Good luck with the bass/walleye!

I love shooting every day but I'm working on a bow shoulder for a couple more weeks. I hope to be full steam again soon.

Good luck with that fishing though!

I work at home and it is a great break to step outside of my workshop and shoot a few arrows every day.

I also do that but I usually start back shooting again in July. Time to mow the path around my little range and get some new targets put up.

Yes, I took two weeks off after my bear hunt.

When it's hot I don't shoot. When my hip hurts after working a half day I don't shoot. When it's raining I don't shoot. When I'm fishing or golfing I don't shoot. Otherwise I'm shooting, mainly 3-D with my friends on Sundays.

I shoot almost everyday but will be taking a break shortly.......getting a knee replaced on Monday.........that will put me down for a week or two! Then back at it.

I shoot at least 6 arrows a day sometimes more sometimes just those 6. I also fish just about everyday too, even if just for 30 minutes on lunch... Helps I work at a plant next to the river during the work week

I shoot about once every week or three. Never intentionally take a hiatus, I just try and do it all.

Last couple years I've gone 4-5 months after the season without shooting at all. I'm usually too occupied with habitat projects, food plots, timber improvement to miss it. When I lived in town I would shoot most everyday to relax - now I have other outlets. I rely on full extension pull-ups to keep my bow/back muscles in shape. What I have found is that I'm a LOT more conscious of proper form when I return to practice and shoot well from the get-go.

I try to hunt most Saturdays all year long. Might go fishing between stands. I go after cat fish and stripers in the summer after chasing squirrels or bunnies all day.
