I have 3 arrows with the 200 gr RW bevel all set and sharpened for this fall. Haven't taken any game yet with them, but they fly like field points, and are easily sharpened. Looking forward to using them.

I will be using them for the first time this year also.  I've got the 125gr. and I did buy the sharpener although I haven't used it yet.  They just needed a little finishing on a crock stick to get them shaving out of the pocket and then I haven't bothered to sharpen yet after just shooting my broad head target a few times.  Flying right with my field points.

Mark....I did buy the sharpening unit. A few strokes for any of my RW bevel broadheads, and they are very sharp, although I always finish with a buffering wheel I got from Jim at Centaur archery. That takes any head to a razor sharp edge.

I've used nothing but the Helix since my return to recurves in 2010.  I love them!  Full disclosure. The inventor and distributor is a good friend. Long before he created the Helix.

I've taken 6 deer and one bear with the Helix.

Over the previous 41 years of bowhunting I had used mostly Bear Razorheads but several others as well.

The Helix is tough, true, holds an edge, and flies terrific.  While I don't  usually like or trust the carbide sharpening tools, I use the one Strickland makes for the Helix and it does the job. Otherwise I find a single bevel defies my favorite way of sharpening broad heads with a crock stick.

I've used Helix that weigh 100, 125, 200 and am currently using 155 grain on Deep Six FMJ.

All six of the whitetails were shot from 8-21 yards, broadside. Five of them dropped in sight in less than 55 yards. One big doe made a 90 degree turn and ended up (lung shot) about 120 yards or so. The bear (Idaho this year) was shot at 16 yards and traveled about 40. I saw him fall and do two somersaults down the mountain. Thank goodness a tree stopped his tumble.

To get the most out of theses single bevel heads you must match the feather wing (L or R) to the broached. The first year I didn't. Still killed two deer with no problems but I learned later that I should have matched em.

I used the helix heads for the first time last season and was very pleased with them . I used the 175gr heads on a Traditional Only 340 shaft out of my 54# Black Widow and had pass throughs on every harvest .. Here are a couple pictures ..

Entrance wound on this doe quartering to me at 12 yards..complete pass through

This hog was shot at 15 steps on the ground

This sow was shot at 18 steps.. entered through the front shoulder and exited the belly

First off, I'm just a crank, but they look like an answer without a question!

Why build a broadhead that pretty much follows tried and true design principles and then inexplicably put brakes on it?

Dem brakes don seem to stop em anytime soon ( see pix above).

Sometimes we get wrapped up in what a bicycle seat "should" look like and can't see any change as good. They are actually not so dissimilar to tree / land sharks and other similar Simmons heads.

That said, I am not certain I would use them on larger game, as I have no experience with them, but deer are not too tough to penetrate.

yeah, there is no denying they will do the job on whitetails and small hogs.  But I'm doubtful of their effectiveness on bigger animals.  The same thing crossed my mind looking at the Simmons heads.

Like I said, I am just a Crank.   :p

Start the cut, spread it some, then pop em open.

I was headed to the moose woods with em until cancer stopped my hunting buddy.

Well, I won't argue with success, but I will stick with my 3:1's with straight blades.

I've shot a couple deer with the 150 gr left bevel. They did pretty well. Just hard to sharpen for me. I may go back. Or stick with the cutthroats....who knows. Performance wise, the helix is a great broadhead.
