Looking for a bowyer
« on: July 07, 2015, 05:02:00 PM »
Does any one of a bowyer that makes bows like John Schulz use to. Glass bows, like the Trophy Hunter. Here is my problem. My favorite longbow from John named the White Buffalo died on me. I was shooting it and I leaned it up against a wall and when went back to it the bottom limb had blown apart. right through the laminations. My heart sank to my feet. I was even depressed for weeks. What I want to do is to send this bow to a bowyer and have him make a replica of this bow. I know there are a few guys that learned from John. Please help me.

Dave Miller in Indiana is someone you want to talk to!  He is a Schulz Graduate. If anyone can I bet he can but not sure if he will?

Added:  Great Northern, Northern Mist, Two Tracks, JET.  Maybe worth a shot to call?

Yes Dave makes beautiful bows. But I have a feeling he would charge a fortune. I will give him a shot.

Check out Steve Turay of Northern Mist, great guy and builds a great bow, i have a Classic and i have another on order. Jim Martin of Mahantango Custom Bows makes a great one too, its the Redtail which i have had 2 made this year and the 3rd will be done by Aug/Sept. Another is Joel Templin of Jet Archery, great guy and builds a great bow. I do not have a Jet bow yet but i have shot a bunch. Just got off the phone with Dave. I have a good feeling about him making a replica for me. I am sending him my bow and he said he could get it 99%  the same as what broke on me.

I will keep you posted.

Hey longbow 1415. You want to sell any of those bows.LOL
