Motels in Dover, TN on south end and Grand Rivers, KY on north end. Good luck hunting.

Heard lots of good things about that area when shopping for a new home...I just got the willies of the extra taxes in KY so settled in TN.

Told that the "foothills" in NE TN, were higher, less humidity, less heat...

IF this is LESS, I'd pure-T hate to experience MORE!

I believe it called Pattis Inn in Grand Rivers. It's right off the interstate.  I live 10 minutes from Grand Rivers.   It looks like a decent hotel.  The parking lot is usually full when I drive by on my way to work.

Chuck,

That's what I heard!  Farther West you go, lower you go in elevation, and as you do so, the heat/humidity rises!

Just this year, both have been intense here in the foothills.

May was very HOT and DRY here in NETN and now, it won't stop raining and is hot, and both conditions made the garden suffer.

ME TOO!  :)

Poplar Creek Lodge (Motel) in Kuttawa Ky if you will be at North end of Lakes. Nice clean little rooms. Good people.

I always just stay in a cabin at Wrangler Camp. Lots of horse riders there but good bow hunting near it. If you don't like ruffing it try Barlkey Lodge, very nice.

Several years back there was a real problem at LBL with thieves robbing camps and breaking into vehicles and stealing hunting gear.

Breaking into vehicles and stealing everything inside is a pervasive problem in all of Kentucky, take your stuff in with you at night.

It's not just Kentucky, with todays economy you better lock everything up. Was told when I was in Ohio not to leave my ATV unlocked. Made be so nervous I could hardly sit in my treestand, wondering if my ride out of Wayne nat forest was going to be where I left it.
