Recutting string grooves
«
on:

So I recently picked up blem bear super grizzly , it shoots well, at least as good as I can shoot it.
What I notice though is the top string groove is off center, not to bad but off center none the less.
Does anyone know of a way to fill in and recut the groove.
I know a guitar nut can be repaired and a new groove cut. Thought there might be a way to do it to a bow

It's probably not the groove but a slight twist in the limbs. Go over to the bowyers forum and I'm sure you can get instructions to fix it.

Thanks but the limbs not twisted, the groove is off to the left of center

Not much you can do to add material. Can file the opposing groove a little deeper though to straighten everything out.

Do you mean the groove on the flat of the limb?

Yep right in the curve of the tip, its really just a visual thing for me, something to tinker with.

Is it off when you measure to each edge? And does the limb look straight?
I had one that was fine when I shot it but if I pulled and let down I torqued the string enough it was half out of the groove. Limbs were well lined up.

Sorry no pics, i've already covered it with black fleece. Just wondered if it was something I should mess with or shoot it as is.
its just off to the left of center enough that I notice it, the other groove is dead center in the middle of the limb.
I suppose it was part of the " blemish"
