Pine trees down here will be dropping their pine cones soon! lol - much sarcasm. Mainly browsers where I am.

About got everything ready, not stand hunting just Waldrop Pac Seatin it, got some decent places where some different cover kinda come together. Haven't trail cameras it yet, but will.
Always be stubborn.

Supposed to be 54 and drizzling on saturday here in the mountains. Couldnt ask for a better forecast! Big boys should be moving!

I wasn't worried Dalton.  I knew you would step up to the plate.  Save a few for me. Oh by the way it looked like you slaughtered the 13-6s range while we where gone. Good shooting.

Around here it looks like the rain may wait until about 10 AM on Saturday. If that's true, I will be in a stand before dawn, and leave when I get wet.

Phillip,

What part of Randolph county are you hunting?  My son-in-law accepted the Pastorate of a church in Seagrove NC near the Randolph and Moore County border.  I'll be spending some time visiting them in October/November to do some bowhunting.  I've had offers from four or five farmers in his church to hunt their land.  It's a beautiful area!

I'm in Asheboro.

If your son ever wants to hit Uwharrie up, or you when you're visiting, drop me a line. I'm about 10 minutes from Seagrove. But farm land hunting trumps gameland any day.

I had a very big doe walk into range on opening morning. Then I saw her two little twin fawns following her. The little ones still had spots showing. I relaxed and enjoyed watching them until they walked out of sight. It was a great morning in the NC woods.

Bill, I hunt in the Liberty area.

Opening day was a bust for me, I had deer come in, but they worked downwind and smelled me before they came in range.

I've adopted too many bows that needed a good home.

15 yard shot - double lung hit that just clipped the edge of the heart - excellent steady blood trail - 100 yard recovery - Robertson Purist Longbow 66# - 64inch - 2020 shafts - 160 Land Shark Broadhead. This is how he lay when I found him. Beautiful buck. Lee County.
Work tomorrow - hunt Wednesday.
