Help with a repair
« on: October 12, 2007, 09:24:00 AM »
Made a tri-lam Boo Backed with osaage belly and Bloodwood core. After I shot it I noticed a small crack in the upper lim in the Osage. I sanded it out and put another piece of osage in its spot. Glued it in with urac-185. I have shot the bow since and it shoots great but I want to wrap over the piece so i wont ever have to worry about it ever popping out. Could I wrap it with sinew and if so how would I glue it up never used the stuff before .I have some tightbond lll if that works. open for any suggestions. Here is a pic of the lim.
                  Thanks Buck

Sinew soaked in the titebond III should work fine.  The method I use is sinew soaked in water, let it dry, then re-soak it with Zap-a-Gap or superglue.
The broadhead used, regardless of how sharp, is nowhere as important as being able to place it in the correct spot.
