Habu vyperkahn w/ triple carbon lams was pretty quick. Did not chrono it but it shot the arrows for my 62@29 Widow recurve with good flight and the Habu was 54@28. The widow shoots the 640 grain arrow 190 through the chrono and I would bet $100 the Habu was not far behind.

ACS CX Is the fastest I own. Blacky Schwartz has a site where he tests bow speed and does write-ups. Pete (can't remember last name) does the same.

Without a chronograph, arrow weights, poundage, and draw length, it is just a guess/opinion.

Wheels2, I agree that the naked eye can be fooled. I have chronographed my bows set up to hunt but have learned not to post numbers, there is always someone that will pick at the numbers and technique. Not worth it. Of all the hybrids I have owned the Bigfoot was the fastest and also very quiet and dead in hand. Yes it beat out my acs cx at very similar gpp. That being said bows from same maker, same poundage will usually shoot at different speeds.

Daniel, speed is one component of a high performance bow.
shoot straight shoot often

The new dark matter I'm shooting is by far the fastest longbow I have ever shot, probably the fastest bow I've shot period. As far as noise goes it isn't any louder than my glass model.
All we have to decide is what to do with the time given to us.

This speed discussion is just opinion unless backed up by reliable chrono numbers. I suggest contacting Blacky Schwarz if you want accurate info.

my osage /yew /bamboo trilam wood bow( no glass!), built by my good friend "Roy from Pa" hes over on the bench- it shot 174 fps with the same 11gpp arrow, but i think it is a few pounds over the #50 mark- should put it on the scale- that guy builds an amazing trilam!! legendary!!!

I didn't see any self promotion here.

I'm not upset at all.
Just saying I must've missed the self promotion.

No biggie.
