Got the New SilverTip two weeks ago
« on: September 02, 2015, 11:05:00 AM »
Dave has done it again, what a work of art.
Last November I lost a great friend, a good guy one of those guys everyone likes, he will truly be missed. The last conversation Mike and I had was about hunting, what we both love to do. Mike was not as deep into this pass time as me, but he loved talking to me about the adventures we had been on in the past.

At the end of the day I told Mike I was thinking about ordering a new silvertip or at least a riser to go with the second set of limbs I have with the first Tip I ordered. My plan from the start, was to name my bow, the first one "the rising Sun" and have a riser made when my son Zach was old enough to hunt with me.
Well that time has come and Mike's last words to me were you should just do it, you never know what will happen tomorrow. Mike never came back to work the next day he was killed in an automobile accident what a tragic loss.
The next day I ordered my riser that became the whole order of a new bow in memory of my late friend Mike Hickey.
The new bow has this written on it.

62" Schafer Silvertip
By Dave Windauer
"The Setting Sun"
For Bruce Deaver

This bow is a 62” Schafer Silvertip TD Recurve
RH medium grip with an elevated rest split fingers at 47# at 28”
Rosewood Dym outer/Charcoal Dym flare
Copperhead Skins
FF
Rough sheep horn tips and knobs
Checkered Grip

Mike will be missed but every time I take this bow into the woods with me and my son Zack, I will remember the great advice that came from even a greater person.
This hunting season will come with a more humbling start and I ask now, that God would forgive me for ever complaining for even one second that I spend in the wood under any condition, or that I take for granted one minute that I get to spend with my family and friends.

I am forever grateful, thank you my father in heaven for my blessings and gifts that you continue to rain down upon me.

Bruce Deaver

Beautiful Tip.  Hunt well this Fall with the memory of your friend Mike near.  Have a great season.  Jeff

Well we won't be seeing this one on the classifieds anytime soon! Great story and bow. Congrats and take that tip to the woods and give Mike a smile.

I will post some more pictures, I like the outdoors pictures. Paul I hope you can make the work detail, I'll bring it up, we should be able to break away and do some stumping.

D. Kay you are to much     :dunno:
