I wouldn't use cedar. Charman works a lot better

Nativestranger; You seem very schooled in this subject. Nice videos,just amazing what you can't see in real time.

I have bare shafted before but didn't really know what I was looking for. Can you explain how you would do it. what distance? steps 1, 2, 3,4 ect.

I'm really interested in this whole "arrow tuning" subject.

I thought I was really close untill I watched your videos. now I'm not too sure. at all!

I usually follow black widow method of bare shafting. I shoot from a close distance around 10 yards into a firm foam target and observe the angle they stick into target. Nock right is stiff. Nock left is weak. If your target is too soft or too loosely packed to get a reliable nock reading then you may need to tune by stepping back 15-20 yards and check the bareshaft group in relation to fletched group. But this method require precise shot placement on the archer's part.
